Steven Cortez

Steven Cortez, 50 of Odessa, passed away August 29, 2021 in Odessa.

Public visitation will be held from 1pm-9pm Wednesday the 8th at MFH Chapel with Rosary at 7 Pm.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am. Thursday the 9th at St. Joseph's with Father Chavez, officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery arrangements are by Martinez funeral home.

Steven Cortez was Born in Odessa, Texas to Balbino and Maria Navarrette Cortez on March 23, 1971. He went to school in Odessa. He worked as a welder for 20 years.He was a Christian Catholic and was part of the motorcycle community. Steven enjoyed riding, dancing,Spending time with his family and grandkids. He was an all around family man.

Steven Cortez is preceded in death by His fiance Jolanda Gonzalez, father Balbino Cortez mother Maria N Espinoza, stepfather Gilbert Espinoza, brother Michael Espinoza Maternal Grandparents Leandro  and Bacilisa (Licha) Navarrette  Paternal Grandparents Manuel and Amparo Cortez, cousins Joseph Gonzalez, Freddy Gonzales

Steven Cortez is survived by son Steven Cortez Jr. And wife Lilianna. Daughters Elise Cortez, Erika Franco and husband Adrian, Sister Jo Ann Urias (Jose Luis) grandkids LiliMarie Cortez, Leanna Cortez, Levi Cortez, Xaybian Cortez, Xephen Cortez, Ariah Franco, Leah Franco. And his faithful companion Afro.

Pallbearers will be Michael (Mikey) Espinoza, Tyler Espinoza, Justin Cortez, Donny Carrillo, Greg Herrera, Steve Garcia, Phillip Palma, Alex Sanchez.

We as a family would like to take this time and express our utmost sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you all for your prayers the floral, food offerings and especially your presence  with us during this most difficult time. A special gratitude to Faith Martinez and the gentleman that helped the day of the incident.
