Ruby Lee Sanders, 88, died Friday, November 6, 2020, in Odessa, TX. Ruby was born in Cameron, TX on December 3, 1931 to Ruben and Mamie Oages Williams. Ruby’s family moved to Lamesa, TX where she attended school at Blackshear High School. She later moved to Odessa, TX in 1954. Ruby worked as a dietitian at Four Seasons Nursing Home and Women and Children’s Hospital. Ruby loved the Lord. She was a faithful member at St. Matthew Baptist Church. She served on the Mission Board, Sunday School and BTU until her health failed her. St. Matthew’s Mission Department would come to her home once a month to pray with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sanders; parents, Ruben and Mamie Oages Williams; stepmother, Annie Williams; five brothers, Charlie, Jasper, Johnny, Melvin and Cleveland Williams; three sisters, Ruby Hubbard, Louise Richardson and Elnora McCoy; son, Wayne Wallace; grandsons, Marquette Wallace and Darwin Robinson Jr.; granddaughters, Quin Qualita Jackson, Shaniqua Wallace and Quintina Wallace and great granddaughter, Azaley Wallace.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Charles Wallace (Sandra) of Lamesa, TX, Quincy Wallace (Callie) of Midland, TX, Samuel Wallace (Rebecca), Verna Taylor (Calvin), Leona Robinson and Darwin Robinson of Odessa, TX; granddaughter she raised after Darwin, Tonya Wallace; a very special cousin, Beaulah Leeper and a host of nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren and her Christian family and friends.
