Jose R. Bravo, of Sanderson, TX passed away on October 13, 2021 at his home in Odessa, TX.

Jose was born in Sanderson, TX to Felicitas and Atilano Bravo Sr., on November 10, 1938.  He married Rosa Casillas on December 10, 1960 in his hometown of Sanderson, TX.  He worked as a distribution clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 28 years.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served for 4 years and was honorably discharged.

Jose is preceded in death by his son, Jose C. Bravo Jr., his brothers Angel Bravo and Atilano Bravo Jr. and his parents.

Jose is survived by his wife, Rosa Casillas Bravo, his children, Ricardo Bravo, Sandra Bravo Kramer and her husband Bobby Kramer, Marina Bravo Salinas and her husband Rick Salinas, Sara Bravo Manning and her husband Malcolm Manning.  His 2 sisters, Margarita Esqueda and Maria Salazar. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jose was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Jose’s favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was a True Blue Fan. He liked watching the news; especially Fox News. He loved to go fishing and hunting. He loved playing pool so much that he built a room for his very own pool table. Everyone was always welcome at his house. The front door was always open to anyone. He was always making everyone laugh. All the way to his last breath. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Pall Bearers will be Bobby Kramer, Rick Salinas, Malcolm Manning, Jeremiah Arenivas, Robert Flores and Johnny Ray Flores.  Honorary Pall Bearer Randy Hutchison.

The family of Jose Bravo wishes to extend our sincere thanks to The VA from Dallas, Bertram and Odessa.  Father Jose from Holy Cross Catholic Church of Bertram, Father Bernard from St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Odessa, Chaplain Albert and Chaplain Keith, and Kindred Hospice of Marble Falls and Midland. We would also like to thank all of the family and friends for their generous donations of food, calls, messages, and prayers. They are all so greatly appreciated.

Private Family visitation will be on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 10 am – 1 pm inside Martinez Funeral Home, Odessa, Texas.  Public Visitation will be from 1 pm – 9 pm. Prayer Services and Rosary will be at 7 pm.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson, Texas. The Rosary will be at 2 pm and the Mass at 3 pm. The Burial will follow mass at Santa Rita Cemetery.
