Jonathan Portillo Garcia Jr.

Jonathan Portillo Jr., 16, of Odessa, TX passed away on September 27, 2021, in Lubbock, TX.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 10:00 am to the following day with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Iglesia de Poder y Restauracion located at 11300 W. University in Odessa.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Iglesia de Poder Y Restauracion. Pastor Jesus Fierro will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Jonathan Portillo was born in Odessa, TX to Erica Garcia and Jonathan Portillo on March 3, 2005.  He went to school at Permian High School.

He is preceded in death by great grandfather Manuel Hector Garcia and his uncle Aner Portillo.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother Erica Garcia and stepfather Omar Chacon, Father Jonathan Portillo and stepmother Tonya Portillo, brothers and sisters Sebastian Portillo, Xiomara Chacon, Nathan Portillo, Jairo Portillo and Jizelle Portillo.  Other survivors include his uncle Edgar Garcia, Aunt Emily A. Garcia, Grandmother Veronica Garcia, Grandfather Gerardo Garcia, Great Grandmother Aurelia Garcia, Great Grandma Tomy Quiroz, his paternal grandmother, and numerous paternal aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jaeson Morales, Brayam Guerra, Jose Luis Pando, Calista Martinez, Zachery Martinez, Sebastian Portillo, Jesus Junior Garcia and Yovani Estrello.

The family of Jonathan Portillo wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Mohamad Mal-Rahawan; Child Life- Hannah, Kayla, Sarah, Amy; Nurses- Stephanie, Asma, Shanna, Kevin, Suzan, Shannon, Michelle, Gabi, Alex, Bianca, Ruth; and Physical Therapy/Occupational therapy- Abbye, Jacob, Zamiel and David.

Jonathan will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
