Odessa

Donald Jefferson Frink, 63 of Odessa, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Odessa.

Donald was born on September 14, 1956 to Thomas Jefferson Frink and Lizzie Mae Tatum Frink in Artesia, NM. Donald was born a big fat boy at 10 lbs. 12 oz.  The family farm was sold when he was just a boy and they moved to Las Cruces, NM where he finished growing up. He was a teenager when he fell in love with riding motorcycles. After coming of age, he moved to Fort Stockton to work with Uncle Elmer and became a derrick hand in the oil fields and sowed some wild oats during the time. At age 28 he paid a special visit to his niece Dee Dee, her husband Dave had the honor of praying with and baptizing him in the Verde River Payson Arizona.

In 1985 he met the love of his life “Margarita” and was married after moving to Odessa, TX. He worked oil, then Ref-Chem, when they shut down, he went to Truck Driving School and finished top of his class. He trucked all over the country seeing our beautiful America. Margarita also enjoyed a trip to New York along with him. He enjoyed “Bike Riding” and shooting at the gun range. He rode South Dakota Sturgis Motorcycle Rally twice, Waco Harley Davidson Rally’s and the local Veterans Rally yearly with his and Margarita’s best friends, Steve & Ann. He also loved to play guitar with his nephew Vince.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita; sons, Randal and James Robert; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2020 with burial at Ector County Cemetery in Odessa II Section with Pastor David Szcepanski officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.

He is fondly thought of by the family as our “Gentle Giant” with a big heart. He loved the Lord and he lived a simple life. We will miss our beloved Donnie…. until we meet again.
