Zulema Dominguez Lujan

March 16, 1950 — January 11, 2026

Zulema Dominguez Lujan, 75, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on January 11th, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the family she loved more than anything.

Sulema was born on March 16, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to Maria A. and Henry C. Dominguez, Sr. Her family later moved to Odessa, where she and her seven siblings put down roots and went on to raise families of their own.

She met the love of her life, Ruben Subia Lujan, while attending Ector High School. After dating for three years, they were married on January 25, 1968, in Odessa. As their 58th wedding anniversary approached, their love and devotion to one another remained as strong as ever.

Sulema worked as a bank teller for 20 years before beginning her career with ECISD as a Special Education Aide at Permian High School. After another 20 years of service, she retired, having touched many lives along the way.

She was an excellent cook and took great pride and joy in feeding those she loved. She also had a talent for hair and makeup and was known for always looking her best—those who knew her well knew she never went a day without it.

Sulema was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Henry Dominguez, Sr.; her sister, Aurora Granado; and her brothers, Henry, Ruben, and Oscar Dominguez.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ruben Lujan, Sr.; her children, Ruben Lujan, Jr. and Anita Urias and husband Gino; her grandchildren, Melinda Barrientos and husband Eric, Ruben Lujan III and wife Joni, and Angelica Urias; her great-grandchildren, Celeste, Aiden, Adrik, Jessalyn, Eliseo, Elisandra, Eralynn, and Jaxon; her siblings, Adolfo Dominguez, Eugene Dominguez, and Gloria Mancha; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her fur-baby, Ruby.

Visitation is set for Thursday January 15, 2026, from 1pm-9pm with a family gathering at 7pm with Daisy Berlanga officiating at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services are set for 2pm on Friday January 16, 2026, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with Jeremy Dominguez officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Aiden Melendez, Ruben Lujan III, Adrik Lujan, Matthew Mancha, Manuel Mancha, and Oscar Dominguez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Eliseo Barrientos and Jaxon Davis.
