Victoriano R. Núñez, 90, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Friday November 21, 2025, in Odessa.
Victoriano was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua Mexico, to Cruz Rodríguez Núñez and Francisco “Panchito” Núñez on March 23, 1935. He married Zulema Estrada on June 23, 1961, in Ojinaga. Throughout his many years working at KPEJ TV Station, he proudly served in several roles as the station evolved and grew.
Victoriano is preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Francisco Núñez, and by his son, Enrique “Ricky” Núñez. He is survived by his wife Zulema Núñez of Odessa, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage; his daughter Cruz Núñez-Hunter of Atlanta, Georgia; his son Roberto Núñez (Rosemary) of Odessa, Texas; his son Louis Núñez (Letty) of Odessa, Texas; and his daughter Emma Núñez of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by two brothers and five sisters, an enormous count of nieces and nephews.
Victoriano was immensely proud of his growing family, which includes 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Frankie Núñez, Fabian Núñez, Dominic Núñez, Robert Núñez Jr., Xzavier Palacios, and Zebastian Palacios.
Victoriano was known for his sense of humor and playful spirit. He was a jokester and a prankster, always ready to make his family laugh. His exaggerated stories, funny antics, and joyful personality live on in countless pictures and videos cherished by those who loved him. A devoted and hardworking man, he took great pride in the home he built south of Odessa on several acres of land. There, he planted trees, tended to the earth, and created a place where family celebrations, gatherings, and memories flourished for decades. His home was his sanctuary — a place filled with love, laughter, and tradition.
Victoriano leaves behind a legacy of devotion, humor, faith, and family. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be prayed from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home.
Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, followed by burial at 11:30 AM at Ector County Cemetery Rosehill Section.
Arrangements are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home.
