Timothy Devorick Batie

November 27, 1980 — June 26, 2025

Timothy Batie was a remarkable soul who graced this world with a unique light. From the very beginning, it was clear that his journey would be different - not defined by limits, but by love, resilience, and the purest joy

As a person with special needs, Timothy taught everyone around him more than we could have ever taught him. He gave people names that suited him, names like Morro for Morrison, Icemar for Dwight, and Bitty for Tamon. He lived with a heart untouched by pretense and a spirit full of sincerity, expressing his love without conditions, found wonder in the ordinary, and appreciate life's simplest moments.

He had his own language - not always through words, but through laughter, gestures, and an unspoken bond that he shared with his family, friends and caregivers. Whether it was the twinkle in his eye when hearing his favorite music, the comfort he found in familiar routines, or the joy he took in being surrounded by loved ones, Timothy found ways to connect that went straight to the heart.

Those who knew him knew a soul who never judged, never held grudges, and never pretended to be anything other than who he was. He had a deep impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him - teaching patience, unconditional love, and the power of presence. No wonder he has a lot of names such as Tinman, Mr. T, limbo, Tim-Tim, Babowa.

His life was not measured in accomplishments by the world's standards, but in the immeasurable love he gave and received. It is interesting to know that Timothy was unofficially, but ceremoniously married to Domineshia Dixon.

He faced life's challenges, such as Down syndrome, Diabetes, and Renal failure with courage and grace. Every hurdle he encountered, he met with quiet determination and the strength of those who supported him. His family was his safe place - and in return, he became our greatest teacher.

At 44 years old, Timothy left this world, leaving behind a legacy of love that can never be erased. Though his passing has left a space that can never be filled, his memory lives on in every smile he brought, every life he touched, and in the countless moments of beauty that surrounded his time with us

He may not have spoken many words, but his life was a message of love, dignity, and quie strength. He will always be remembered not for his limitations, but for his incredible capacity to inspire, connect, and love without conditions.

Rest peacefully, dear Timothy. Your journey was one of purpose, and your memory will live forever in our hearts.

PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU: MY PEACE I GIVE TO YOU NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES DO I GIVE TO YOU. LET NOT YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. NEITHER LET THEM BE AFRAID.
