Samuel B. Martinez, 77, of Odessa, TX, passed away on August 1, 2023 in Odessa, TX.
Visitation will be Monday August 7, 2023 from 10 am to 9pm, with a service at 7 pm at Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass will be held at 11 am Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Mission with Father Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens; arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.
Samuel B. Martinez was born in Garden City, KS to Francisco Martinez and Alejandra Sanchez on October 1, 1945. He married Elizabeth Cisneros on August 5, 1968 in Odessa, TX. He worked as a yard foreman and retired from Atco Services. After retirement, he enjoyed doing yard work, riding his bicycle, barbequing, crushing/recycling aluminum cans, caring for his chickens, goats, and dogs, spending most of his days outdoors. He enjoyed being with his kids and grandchildren during family gatherings, always laughing and making jokes. We all enjoyed listening to his jokes and will always remember the smile he had while telling them.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco Martinez and Alejandra Sanchez, daughter Carmen Michelle Martinez, granddaughter Samantha Elizabeth Martinez, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his sons: Sammy Bill Martinez, Jr. (Veronica), Romeo Martinez, Gregory Martinez (Nancy), Rudy Martinez (Josefina), Mark Anthony Paul Martinez (Arelhi). 2 brothers and 5 sisters, 26 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Adam Martinez, Juan Diego Martinez, Mark Anthony Paul Martinez, Jr., Damien Martinez, Romeo Martinez, Jr., Frank Esteban Martinez.
