Samuel Rangel, 74, of San Antonio, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2026.
Samuel was born in Odessa, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the 1970s. In his early years, he worked as a brick mason alongside his father, and later spent many years as a commercial driver. Upon retirement, Samuel dedicated his life to full-time ministry, preaching the word of God and working alongside individuals seeking rehabilitation through their faith. He touched countless lives through his devotion to service and his unwavering commitment to sharing God's love with others.
Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Teofilo Rangel; his mother, Gloria Chaidez; his brother, Blas Rangel; his grandson, Brandon Sanchez; his wife, Estella Rangel; his sister, Manuela Ybarra; his brother, Pete; and his sister, Maribel Gonzales.
He is survived by his daughters, Tanya (Robert), Tina, and Tammy (Edwin); his grandchildren, Anthony Montemayor, Bryan Sanchez, Samuel Rangel Sanchez, Joshua Becerra, and Ava Montemayor; his great-grandchildren, Raelynn Sanchez, Elijah Sanchez, and Matthew Sanchez; and his siblings, Timo Ybarra, Manuel Pineda (Randi), Nancy Baca (Daniel), Velma Rangel, Sylvia Rangel, Susie Ramirez, and Linda Diane Contreras.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at the Martinez Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Montemayor, Samuel Rangel Sanchez, Joshua Becerra, Blas Rangel, Matthew Baca, and Joshua Ybarra.
A special thanks to Roddy Ramirez, Rob Wisdom, and Spider, for always making the time to check on Samuel and for providing him with a friendship without measure.
