Ruben Gamez Balderas Sr.

Ruben Gamez Balderas, 67, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Odessa, Texas.

Ruben was born in Cuidad Mante, Tamaulipas to Domingo Castillo Balderas & Sara Gamez Balderas on August 8, 1958. He married Martha Nunez Balderas on June 24,1981 in Odessa, Texas. He worked as an automotive mechanic and painter for the Dent Shop. He loved to spend time fishing and working on his yard and plants here in Odessa and in his hometown of Cuidad Mante.

Ruben is preceded in death by his father Domingo Balderas and his mother, Sara Balderas, his brother Oscar Balderas, and his sisters, Delia Balderas and Lupe Balderas.

Ruben is survived by his wife of 44 years, Martha Nunez Balderas, his son, Ruben Balderas Jr. and his daughter Marchelle Nunez Gomez, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Brothers Manuel Balderas, Hugo Balderas, Emigdio Balderas, Irma Balderas, Jorge Balderas, Daniel Balderas, Ana Christina Balderas, Rosa Nelly Balderas, and Carlos Balderas.

Visitation has been set for Monday December 22, 2025, from 1pm-9pm at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.

Funeral services are set for 10am Tuesday December 23, 2025, at Martinez Funeral Home chap-el with Pastor Don Caywood officiating

Pallbearers will be Manuel Balderas, Emigdio Balderas, Hugo Balderas, Irma Balderas, Rosa Nelly Balderas, Carlos Balderas, Emigdio Balderas, and Javier Marquez.

Cremation will be at a later date.
