Dr. Roger Warren Manning passed away on June 28, 2025 in Odessa, Texas. Roger was born on July 29, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. He is predeceased by his parents, Dr. Edwin L. Manning and Dorothy Juanita Manning, LVN. Roger is survived by wife Nenita and her daughter Grace Anne Vergara, his beloved son, Theodore Alexander Manning and his wife, Diana Choban Manning. Other survivors include his grandchildren Spencer Ian and Cameron Reid Manning, his siblings Sharon Manning, Roy Manning and his wife, Carol, Dr. Sam Manning and his wife, Ginny, plus nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and a lively extended family.

Roger was a published author, musician, sailor, hunter, gardener, a professor, an administrator and an accomplished raconteur who enjoyed traveling, storytelling, and people. Roger’s career included working for the State of Texas as a Social Worker, a State Health Department Director, an Associate Dean at Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater, TX and a Dean of Technology at Odessa College in Odessa, TX.

After cremation in Odessa, TX, Roger’s ashes will be moved to Austin, TX.
