Reginald Shepherd

On December 20, 2013, Reginald T. Shepherd, affectionately known to his friends as Shorty and his family as Teddy, entered into eternal rest in Odessa, TX.
Reggie was born on May 1, 1951 to McKinley and Barbara Shepherd in Brooklyn, NY. He was the first born of six children.
Teddy educated in the Long Branch, NJ school system. He lived happily in the New YorkNew Jersey area until he relocated to Texas in 1980.
Teddy was a loving son and husband, devoted father and great friend. He was united in Holy Matrimony with Vickie Coleman Shepherd in 2005.
Teddy loved to dance and sing with his singing group at Browns Castle in Long Branch, NJ. He was also a talented artist and he loved to cook. Teddy was a real people person and was loved by many.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife Vickie Shepherd daughter Shala Penevolpe NJ sons Dwayne Powell NJ and Paul Henry FL stepson Kevin Coleman stepdaughter Syreeta Coleman grandchildren Jordan Penevolpe, Jaylen Penevolpe, Ishon Powell, Malachi Ford, Eian Henry, Eva Henry, Kartel Henry, Owen Henry, Paul Henry, Jr., Nehemiah Henry, CMari Coleman, Ikayla Michell, Kimbre Coleman, Amarriah Coleman, Anzell Coleman, Joseph Coleman, and Kayla Coleman soninlaw Joe Penevolpe daughterinlaw Brittany Henry sisters Glenda Frye NC, Ester Waller NY, Alison Shepherd NY, Kimberly Shepherd NY brother Barry Shepherd NY, brothersinlaw Hugh Frye and Jesse Waller sistersinlaw Darla Coleman stepmother Lessye Shepherd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Teddy is attending a family reunion now with his parents McKinley Shepherd and Barbara Varner and his granddaughter, Deshyia M. Powell.

We all will miss Teddy dearly. The seeds of his love are firmly planted within us. God saw him getting tired, a cure was not to be. He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered Come with me. He suffered much in silence, but his spirit did not bend. He faced his pain with courage, until the very end. He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain, for God took him to His loving home and freed him from the pain.

A Wake will be held on Sunday December 29, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.
A Celebration of his life will be on Monday December 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Arvin Matlock officiating.
