Pablo Santana Rivera, of Olton, passed away December 3rd in Olton, Texas surrounded by his family.
Pablo was born in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, México to Pablo and Alva Rivera on March 12th, 1937. He was married to Hilda Rodriguez on January 7th, 1961, in Zaragoza, Coahuila Mexico. In the 50’s he came to the United States as part of the Bracero Program to make a better life for himself and his family. Pablo was a rancher and farmer. He loved his animals which consisted of goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and cows. He was a very strong-willed man, but he was also a very giving man. He helped anyone who needed help. He was strict but a loving man who instilled in his kids to have a strong work ethic. He liked to joke around and always had a comeback line. He always saw humor in life even when things seemed difficult.
Pablo is proceeded in death by his wife Hilda Rivera, parents Pablo and Alva Rivera, his sisters Teresita Rivera, Estella Valdez, brothers Norberto Rivera, Rodolfo Rivera, and granddaughter Sally Lee Pedroza, and great-grandson Antonio Garcia V
Pablo is survived by his daughters Hilda Sánchez (Guadalupe), Julieta Rivera, Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez (Martin), Elda Rodriquez (Luis), Elsa Irving (Tony), his sons Pablo Antonio Rivera (Susan), Arturo Rivera, Jose Luis Rivera (Ruby) his sister Elvira Villarreal and bother Uvaldo Rivera; grandchildren Jorge Rivera, Bianca Castro, Olivia Garcia, Julio Gonzalez, Martin Gonzalez, Victoria Gonzalez, Tessa Porras, Raymundo Rivera, Arturo Rivera, Tania Rivera, Becky Roque, Jesse Irving, Matthew Rivera, Alfredo Calzada, Marisa Calzada. Fifteen great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Jorge Rivera, Uvaldo Rivera, Julio Gonzalez, Martin Gonzalez, Jacob Marquez, Jesse Irving, Arturo Rivera and Raymundo Rivera Honorary Pallbearer Matthew Rivera

Rosary and visitation 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Monday December 8th. Prayer service and rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, December 8th at Martinez Funeral Home Inside Chapel.
Chapel services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 9th at Martinez Funeral Home Inside Chapel. Burial will follow to Peaceful Gardens 11:30 am, Tuesday, December 9th.
