Oscar "Rat" Lujan

Oscar "Rat" Flores Lujan 74, of Odessa, Tx, passed away on November 27, 2022, in Odessa. Oscar Lujan will be remembered as a loving and patient father, grandfather, and friend. A true patriot of his country and huge supporter of all first responders. He was a lover of country music and loved the outdoors. Oscar enjoyed spending time out at the ranch his son worked at hunting and collecting firewood to BBQ with.  Oscar looked forward to spending his vacation by taking the drive down to San Antonio every year and to spend Christmas with his son, daughter in law and grandson. He spent his days watching war and western movies. He was an incredible welder spending most of his weekends making fences and buildings. He has a love for children and was huge supporter of the St. Jude Foundation. He was a strong believer of the 2nd amendment and enjoyed spending time at the shooting range. He will be truly missed and always hold a place in the hearts of his loved ones.

Oscar was born in El Paso, Tx to Cruz and Raul Lujan on November 27, 1948. He went to school in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Ector High School, where he was a star varsity basketball player. He worked as a gate guard for Standard Structures, Inc for 17 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Air Force.

Oscar is preceded in death by his parents Cruz and Raul Lujan, brother Sammy Lujan, sister Patsy Lujan, sister Norma Lujan, brother Elmer Lujan.

Oscar is survived by his son Ryan Lujan (wife Kimberly), son Thomas Chavez (wife Ruth), grandson Brandon Lujan, brother Raul Jr. Lujan, sister Ofelia Barrientes (Lujan), sister Rosie Hernandez (Lujan), brother Fernando Lujan, sister Gloria Cruz (Lujan), sister Bertha Lujan.

Funeral services are set for 1:00PM Thursday  December 8, 2022, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with family officiating.

Burial is set for 11:15 AM Thursday December 15, 2022, at Fort. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Tx.

Arrangements are by The Martinez Funeral Home.
