Omar Yahir Navarrete 19 passed away Sunday December 10,2023, in Odessa Texas.  Omar was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua Mexico October 3, 2004, to Omar Navarrete Morales and Luz Elena Calanche.

Omar attended Sam Houston elementary school and he Graduated from Odessa High School in 2022. He also attended Transition Learning Center after high school. Omar was a very happy person, he loved his parents, sisters, cousins, and his grandparents. Omar held a held a very. special spot in his parents’ hearts.  Omar loved watching movies, he loved eating hamburgers, and loved singing. His favorite song was “La Guadalupana that his Grandma Balbina would sing with him. Omar was the type of person to bring joy and happiness instantly when people would come near him. Omar was the first person to greet everyone with open arms. Although he could not verbally talk, his smile would speak for him. Omar’s cousin Jose would sing to him and it would fulfill him with happiness. Omar loved when his Uncle Gilberto would talk to him and let him borrow his personal items like his hat and necklace. Omar’s Sister Miranda was the second person who would help take care of him, when she did they would sing together and watch movies. Omar would take advantage of Miranda to keep her by him when watching tv, he would kick his leg up to keep changing the channel until she found what he wanted. When Omar would spend time with his sister Jade, they would play nintendo switch. His Sister Jade would like to bug him by taking away the switch or by standing in front of the tv. Omar did not like when they would take the remote from him or touch his chair. Overall Omar was always a very bright and happy person with all of his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his cousin Valeria Medrano Calanche. His Grandpa Sotero Navarrete and His Grandpa Jose Salgado. His Great Grandma Andrea Nieto and His Great Grandpa Julian Calanche.

Omar Yahir Navarrete Calanche is survived by his Parents Omar Navarrete and Luz Elena Calanche, sisters Miranda Navarrete Calanche, Jade Navarrete Calanche, Reyna Navarrete Calanche. Grandma Balbina Navarrete, Grandma Maria Calanche, Grandpa Martin Calanche. His Godparetns Consuelo Juarez Nieto, Raul Nieto, His Aunts and Uncles Luz Maria Calanche, Gilberto Salgado, Javier Navarrete, Martin Calanche Jr., Jacqueline Gonzales, Ivan Calanche, Ana Yasmine Calanche. His Cousins Estrella Salgado Calanche, Jose Gilberto Salgado Calanche,Luna Salgado Calanche, Mauricio Salgado Calanche.

The visitation is set for Monday December 18, 2023, from 1pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.

Mass is set for 1pm Tuesday December 19, 2023, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez officiating.

Cremation will follow at a later date.
