Miguel L. “Windy” Lujan, 79, joined our Lord on January 6, 2021. He was born in Terlingua, Texas on February 11, 1941 to Agapito and Paula Lujan, who precede him in death along with siblings Agapito Lujan, Jr., Susie Lujan, and nephew Paul Lujan. On October 20, 1962, he married his soulmate, Modesta Hernandez in Odessa, Texas. A retired welder, brisket king, and Jon Wayne fan. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Modesta Hernandez Lujan, his four daughters: Sandra Ramirez and son-in-law, Henry Ramirez, Sylvia Lujan, Linda Rodriguez and son-in-law, Albert Rodriguez, Laura Lujan and son-in-law, Michael Gallegos, siblings: Roman Lujan, Maria Gonzalez, Ismael Lujan, Ruben Lujan, Rosario Navarrette, Rosa Lujan, grandchildren: Moses Rodriguez, Vanessa Venegas and husband, Raul Dominguez, Stacie Rodriguez and husband, Cristian Vizueth, Ryan Ramirez, Valerie Gallegos, Christopher Rodriguez, Mikey Gallegos, Sierrah Ramirez, and Derek Cedillo, great-grandchildren: Kassadee Rodriguez, Xavier Vizueth, R.D. Dominguez, and Amaia Vizueth. Miguel will be remembered for his love of honky-tonk (beer-drinking) music, fishing, hunting, storytelling, gardening, barbecuing, and good-timing gatherings. Pall bearers will be David Gonzalez, Edward Gonzalez, Fil Lopez, David Lee Lujan, James Lujan, Robert Lujan, Roman Lujan, Jr., and Armando Sauceda, Jr. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 11th, at Martinez Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will take place at 2 p.m. on January 12th, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with family friend, Father Freddy Perez, officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery (Odessa II Garden). The Lujan family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to family and friends for all of your support and comfort during this time. We would also like to extend our gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the attending staff at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas for your faith and compassion in caring for our beloved Miguel Lujan.
