Michael Johnson

On February 4^th, 2024, Michael David Johnson “Mike” passed on from this life to his new life in heaven. Born October 4^th, 1959, in Monroe, Louisiana to Larry Johnson and Jerry Smith. Mike came to Texas in the early 80’s to pave a path in the oil industry. Over the span of 46 years, Mike has worked for several oilfield companies, gaining knowledge and wisdom from each. With each passing year, Mike made many friends. He didn’t have acquaintances, they became friends, and his friends became family. He loved what he did, and even more, he loved to share what he had learned with others. If you wanted to learn he would teach you. That made him the great mentor that he was. While he loved his career, his family was his world. Mike married his wife Mandy, on April 2, 1999. His daughter Joslynn, and son Jared, were his pride and joy. He passed on his love of guns and ammo to Jared, and his kindness and compassion to Joslynn. His patience and understanding made him the father and husband that he was.

Those left to cherish his memory, wife Mandy, son Jared, daughter Joslynn, Mother Jerry Smith, brother Greg and wife Liz of, brother Alan wife Cathy. Aunt Carolyn Baker, father-in-law Larry Kerr, wife Brenda, brother-in-law Cory & fiancé Jessica, brother-in-law Scott, sister-in-law Tiffany Phelps & husband Andrew, along with cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Mike is preceded in death by, his father Larry Johnson, Stepdad Don Smith, grandparents Olen Johnson, Odelle Johnson, Charlie Colvin and Willie Belle Colvin , uncle Jimmy Johnson and uncle Bob Baker.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel Hill Baptist Church on February 17^th  2024 at 1 pm.
