Matelda Grandlund Sandoval died September 13, 2018 at the age of 72. She had battled Lung cancer. Matelda was born in Kimberly, Nevada on March 18, 1946.
to Adolf Grandlund and Edna Gonzales Ontiveros. She married Paul Sandoval in 1964 they had four daughters Malissa Heredia and the late Frankie Heredia of Crane, Texas,
Terri Suniga and husband Rito Suniga, Corina Rivas, and Adonica Nunez and husband Chris Nunez, all of Odessa. She divorced her husband in 1979. She then gave birth to
her daughter Antonia Reyes and fiancée Chris Flores, and her son Christopher Llanez, both from Odessa. She loved to sew, crochet, and knit she was an excellent cook and loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, and sisters, Peggy Grandlund, Francis Salazar, and her ex-husband Paul Sandoval.
She will be missed by her mother, Edna, sister Helen Ontiveros, brother Richard Ontiveros, all of Odessa, Texas; her children grandchildren Adon Torres and
Husband Damien Torres of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Anthony Villa and wife Alesha Villa of Moss Point, Mississippi, Andrew Villa and wife Marissa Villa of Milaca, Minnesota,
Angelina Lee and Husband Jordan Lee of Midland, Texas, Rito Suniga of Odessa Texas, Anissa Suniga of Anchorage, Alaska, Daniel Rivas, Angel Martinez both of Odessa, Texas,
Dominic Rivas, Demetrius Rivas, Destini Rivas all of Crane, Texas, Christopher Nunez, Gladys Means, David Martinez, James Nunez, Ryan Nunez, Brandon Nunez, Addalyn Nunez,
Josiah Guerro, Jerimiah Guerro all of Odessa, Texas, and her fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be said for Matelda on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 am on
Monday, September 17, 2018 with Father Frank Chavez presiding. Matelda's internment will be at Ector County Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Chris Nunez, Chris Flores,
Chris J Nunez, David Martinez, Daniel Rivas, Demetrius Rivas and Honorable Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words of condolences during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Melissa Miller and
Mattie Justice from Hospice of Midland, the doctors, and the Martinez Funeral Home for the extra care that was given to her and the family.
