Martha M. Barton

April 27, 1950 — April 26, 2024

Friday, April 26, 2024, was a sad day as Martha Barton peacefully departed from us and this world. She was surrounded by her family whom she loved and adored. Martha was born on April 27, 1950, in Odessa, Texas to Merced Pete Munos, and Esperanza Vielma Munos.  She was one of four children: Lily Gloria Munos, Pete V. Munos, and Rebecca Cliff.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lily Gloria Munos.

She is survived by the love of her life, Jim Barton.  Martha married Jim on June 23, 1982 in Cancun, Mexico.

Martha is survived by her brother, Pete V. Munos, and wife Peggy, and her sister Rebecca Cliff.

She was a proud and loving Aunt to two nephews Jason Paul Munos, and wife Michelle and Harrison Cobos, and wife Helen.  Four nieces:   Paula Jean Munos, Trisha Renee Munos, Melanie Arissa Munos and fiancé Gabriel, and Jacqueline Rose Munos and fiancé Maritza. Five great-nephews: Nicholas Munos, Derick Sanchez, Caden Ming, Landon Ming, and Lincoln Cobos and two great-nieces, Kiana Diaz and Aubrey Cobos.

Martha was a business owner in the 80s and after selling her company, she worked for Ector County where she retired. Martha will be remembered and cherished for her loving, kind, and compassionate heart.  She had a contagious smile and never met a stranger. She was a giver of gifts, love, and kindness.  She was an uplifting person with positive vibes and a passion for music. Her favorite past time was jamming with friends and a keeping the beat with the tambourines or drums. She will always be remembered for her favorite phrase “Oooo child.”

She loved BIG, she lived BIG, and we will always miss her BIG.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
