April 27, 1957 — December 20, 2025 

On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Maria Elva Ornelaz, loving wife, mother of two children, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren passed away and into eternal life at age 68. Maria Elva was born on April 27, 1957, in Ciudad Acuńa Coahuila to Esteban Ramos and Luisa Juarez. Maria Elva met her husband in Odessa Texas Guadalupe Anaya Ornelaz. She was a caregiver for his mother. They married years later on and went on to have two children, Lourdes and Joe Albert. They were married for 55 years. A lifelong resident of Odessa, Texas. She was a CNA and worked at local nursing homes throughout her life as a dedicated caregiver of the elderly. Elva had a a tremendous compassion for the homeless. She frequented The Jesus House and fed many who were in need in her community. She loved to crochet always also working on her sewing machine making stuff for her grandchildren. She always had a beautiful smile. Maria Elva was a servant and long-life caregiver to many. She captured the hearts of all who met her. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18 Maria Elva was preceded in death by her father, Esteban Ramos of Ft. Worth, Texas, her mother, Luisa Juarez of Del Rio, Texas, brothers Daniel and Carlos Juarez of Odessa, Texas, Luis Colunga of Del Rio, Texas and Antonio Ramos of Ft Worth, Texas, sisters Diana Juarez of Odessa, Texas, and Irma Perez of Del Rio, Texas and her most precious grandson Bryan Contreras and her son-in-law Adam N Contreras of Odessa, Texas. She is survived by her two children and their families; daughter Lourdes Ornelaz and , son Joe Albert Ornelaz as well as 2 grandchildren Brandon/Haili Contreras and AaronContreras/Marissa Molinar. Three great granddaughters Braili, Cloe and Ellie Contreras. Brothers Arturo Juarez, Jaime Ramos, Andres Ramos, Gamaliel Ramos, Esteban Macias, Enrique Ramos, Juan Esteban Hernandez and sister Sapopan Ramos. and a host of nieces ,nephews, cousins and many Friends.

A Visitation will be held from 1pm to 9pm Monday December 29, 2025, with a warm welcoming and opened floor mic, of a Celebration of a life well lived, at 7pm in the Chapel of Martinez Funeral Home, being thankfully, greatly cherished and shared, by all family and friends of Our beloved Maria Elva

The Ornelaz family, opted for Cremation as the alternative means of a burial, to be scheduled and held At a later date. Services entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home.
