Maria passed away peacefully at Beehive Nursing Home in Andrews, TX. She was born in Providencia, Mexico to the late Cornelio and Dolores Acosta. She married Juan Cantu and had four children, Rick Garza, Lee Garza, Eddie Garza and Santos Garza, Jr. Maria is preceded in death by husband Juan Cantu, sons Rick, Lee, Eddie, four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by son Santos Garza, Jr., brother Armando Acosta, sisters, Trine Moralez, Aurora Avitia, Eva Carrasco and Gloria Acosta.

Maria lived a long happy life while cherishing many great moments with surviving grandchildren, Erica Acosta, Alexis Garza, Caleb Garza, Tatiana Garza, Valentina Garza, Austin Garza and spouse Kelli Garza. Maria also leaves six great grandchildren whom she truly adored.
