Maria Andrade

Maria Gomez Andrade, 91, of Odessa, Texas passed away on August 30, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Ojo de Agua, Zacatecas, Mexico. Her father was Roman Gomez and her mother was Fortina Barrientos Gomez.

Maria grew up in Vicente Guerrero Durango, Mexico with 10 siblings: brothers Benito Gomez, Herman Gomez, Lino Gomez and Juan Gomez and sisters Petra Gomez, Ebodia Gomez, Juana Gomez, Soledad Chole Gomez, Paula Gomez and Cruz Gomez.

In her younger years Maria worked in a candy factory and enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and horseback riding. In 1963 she moved to Odessa, Texas where she married Manuel Andrade. She was extremely devoted and proud of her family. She loved cooking and always had a homemade meal ready for her family. She enjoyed growing beautiful and colorful flowers as she had a passion for color. She was deeply religious and devoted much time to reading the Bible and having prayer time at her devotional alter in her home.

Her family and friends will miss her dearly but she will always live in their most precious memories.

Maria is survived by her sons Jose Luis Jimenez, Adam Andrade and Job Andrade, and her daughters Teresa Silva and Maria Elva Andrade. Her grandchildren are Rebecca Silva, Edith Silva, Annette Silva, Junior Jimenez, Noelia Jimenez, Brandon Andrade and Michael Aguirre. Her great grandchildren are Chase Jimenez, Ethan Jimenez, Analei Jimenez, Victoria Silva, Madison Gonzales, Madeline Gonzales and Julian Soto.

Rosary will be held at 7pm on Sunday September 1, 2013 and Monday 2nd at Martinez Funeral Home.
Mass will be held at 2pm on Tuesday September 3, 2013 at Saint Josephs Catholic Church with Father Chavez officiating. Internment will follow at Ector County Cemetery Peaceful Gardens
