Maple Jean Anderson entered the gates of Heaven surrounded by family and friends at 9:21 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the age of 76 years young.
She was born to the late Curtis Hightower Sr. and Erma Jean Cole on November 2, 1948 in Mart Texas and attended school in O'Donnell, Texas where her mother and grandparents Get Cole and Veronie Cole lived. Her grandparents, aunts and uncles would remain close to her heart throughout her life. One day she went to a revival at church in O'Donnell and met J.C. Anderson who was playing a mean guitar. Her only marriage was to J.C. and they had two children together.
Maple never met a stranger. Her electric smile would permeate any room and she was extremely selfless by always-always showing more concern for others than for herself. She had several jobs throughout her life, but none more important than the one she adored: Raising her three children. Although times were tough, she never once gave up. Her friendship with Mrs. Cora Holbert exhibited the meaning of true friendship and represented the importance of always surrounding yourself with people you love and love you back through thick and thin. She loved music and would always be caught humming either the song "I Stood On the Banks of Jordan" or "A Change is Gonna Come" in tune and in soft soprano. Maple was well respected and will forever and ever be missed by us all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Leslie Renee Anderson.
She is the mother of Greg Anderson (Terri), Leslie Anderson and Tracy Anderson. Her grandchildren include Ashley Marshall (Jonathan), Jamar Loud, Van Powell, Blaizhaan Anderson, Evelyn Powell, Bryshion Johnson, Drey Anderson, Brejia Powell, Kienasha Valentine, Kieonna Valentine, Jhett Anderson and Greyson Anderson. Her great-grandchildren include: Ethan, Elise, Emmanuel, Amira, Samaria and Nasya. Her Extended children include Shirley Johnson, Marilyn Johnson (May), Jessic Johnson, Jr., Luchie Johnson and Curtis
