Lydia Ann Jones, 67 of Odessa, Texas, passed away on January 8, 2022 in Midland, Texas.
Public Viewing and Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 17, 2022 at Martinez Funeral Home’s Inside Chapel, 1040 S. Dixie Blvd., Odessa, Texas.
Church/Chapel going home services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Martinez Funeral Home’s Inside Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiating. Celebration of Lydia’s life will follow at the Woodson Park Community Center in Odessa, Texas.
Lydia was born in Odessa, Texas to Landers Jones, Jr and Beatrice Paro Bracy Jones on November 3, 1954. She went to Blackshear Jr. High and Ector High Schools in Odessa, TX. She later attended School at Aladdin Beauty College. She was formerly married to Frank Jones in Odessa, Texas. She worked during the start-up of the tech industry for Texas Instruments and later worked in the Home Health-Care field. At an early stage in her life she attended St. James Missionary Baptist Church. She had a very strong sense of humor and didn’t mind sharing what was on her heart, as well as what was on her mind.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents Landers Jones, Jr and Beatrice Jones, her sisters Doris Haynes Cooper and Yvonne B. Jones-McGee and a very special niece, Datra “Toosie” Martin.
Lydia is survived by her sons Zachariah L. Jones, DeVasea “Bubba” Jones (Sabra) and Frank L. Jones (Tifah), one sister Junell Jones-Pearson, brothers Landers E. Jones III, Lonnie J. Jones, Sr. (Bellen) and Bryace T. Jones, Sr. (Melanie); 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts/uncles, cousins and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Beaudoin, O’Shay Scott Jones, Britton Jones, Jamere Jones, Lonnie Jones, Jr, Koris Draughan, Ray Renteria, Jim Paro Jones, Jaythan Lee Jones, Charlie Jones, Jr, Numbers Sims and Jermiah Lewis.
Memorials may be given to the family at Martinez Funeral Home, 1040 S. Dixie Blvd., Odessa, Texas. The family of Lydia Ann Jones wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Martinez Funeral Home and Crematorium, Rev. Ronnie Gentry and to everyone else for your comforting expressions, thoughts, cards, telephone calls and every act of kindness during this celebration of Lydia’s life.
