Larry Dean Hendrix 66, was born on January 19, 1960, in Odessa, Texas, to Georgia Mae Hendrix. Larry departed this life on April 10, 2026. He was the youngest of five children. He attended Milam Elementary and Blackshear Junior High before attending Ector High School, where he graduated in 1979. While at Ector, Larry was a proud member of the Eagle basketball team.
Larry had a deep love for R&B music, especially the sounds of James Brown and The Temptations. One of his favorite pastimes was relaxing in his lawn chair at Joe Pool Lake in Dallas, Texas, where he enjoyed watching the boats and listening to children play in the water. On Sunday evenings, he could often be found in front of the television cheering on his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching his favorite television series, NCIS: New York, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans.
Larry was known for being quiet and observant, a man of few words whose presence spoke volumes.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Mae Hendrix; his brother, Howard Taylor; his uncles, Robert and David Lee Hendrix; and Aunt Clarise Hendrix.
He leaves to cherish his memory his six daughters: Tiffani Hendrix, Natasha Green, Ashley Green, Shellena Green, Shonda Bracey, and Mercedes Carter; two sons: Larry Green and Robert Carter; three sisters: Janice Marshall (Bobby), Patricia Wilson, and Marilyn Oyawoye; his significant other, Christy Washburn and son, Camren; along with 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
