Kenneth Dale Kuykendall was born to Robert and Waldeen Kuykendall on October 18, 1951 in Hamilton, Texas. Kenneth passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the age of 69 years old.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Martinez Funeral Home Outside Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Ector County Cemetery Odessa II Garden with Reverend Jerry Murphy officiating.
Kenneth grew up in Midland and Odessa, Texas and attended school in both cities. He also lived in California, Gatesville, and Wichita Falls before moving back to Odessa.
Kenneth was married to Roylene Burton, which ended in divorce. Together they had one son, Kenneth Dale Kuykendall, Jr. Ken did all types of work from the oilfield to mechanic work, and even painting signs. He was very talented. He loved music; he could play a guitar and sing; he was an artist. He loved to draw, paint and he was always designing something. Ken liked to make things, he was always tinkering with something or building a porch (although he never finished), he also enjoyed working on his truck.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother and father, Waldeen and Robert Kuykendall; his son, Kenneth Dale Kuykendall, Jr.; his brothers, William Matthew Kuykendall and Donald Ray Kuykendall; one sister, Rita Kay Kuykendall; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Hunt and Mr. and Mrs. John Kuykendall; one niece and one nephew.
Kenneth is survived by one brother, Bobby Kuykendall; sisters, Suzy Harris, Carol Stith, Anita McLain, and Ann Powell; one niece, one nephew, and several aunts and cousins.
The family would like to thank all his friends who looked after him and took care of him these past several months of his life. We will forever be grateful.
