Juanita Rios Samaniego, 77, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2026.

Juanita was born on June 11, 1948, in Colonia El Pueblito, Municipio de Aldama, Chihuahua, to Manuel Samaniego and Beatriz Chávez. On November 17, 1973, she married Tomás Rios in Colonia El Pueblito, Municipio de Aldama. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and devotion.

She was a beloved Jehovah’s Witness whose strong and unwavering faith guided her throughout her life. She was baptized on June 27, 1987, in Chihuahua, a meaningful step that reflected her heartfelt dedication to Jehovah. Her deep love for Jehovah was the foundation of everything she did, and she especially cherished the time she shared with her brothers and sisters in the congregation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Samaniego and Beatriz Chávez; her sisters, Margarita and Socorro; and her brothers, Pedro and Lorenzo.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tomás Rios; her children: Manuel Rios and wife Maria Rios; Griselda Galindo and husband Renato Galindo; Tomás Rios and wife Margarita Rios; and Martha Ocón and husband Alejandro Ocón. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Manuel Samaniego, Ramón Samaniego, Inés Padilla, Teresa Carillo, and Marta Baeza; and by her cherished grandchildren: Lizeth, Daniel, Bryan, Kady, Eric, Kelsy, and Isaac.

Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved each of her children deeply, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and she delighted in every moment shared with them. She expressed her love through her cooking, always welcoming others with a generous heart and a full table.

She was known for her loud and contagious laughter, capable of filling any room with joy. A hardworking and dedicated woman, she was always willing to serve others. Her hospitable spirit made everyone feel welcome, cared for, and at home in her presence. She loved to dance and sing, filling her home with music, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Juanita was loved by many, and her legacy of faith, devotion, kindness, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The pallbearers will be Manuel Rios, Tomas Rios, Renato Galindo, Daniel, Bryan, and Eric Rios.

Arrangements are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home - 1040 S Dixie Blvd. Her body will be presented in an open casket on Tuesday, February 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home for those who would like to visit and support the family. On Wednesday, February 25, the funeral discourse will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses - 3625 W 11th St. A Zoom link will be made available for those who wish to join and are unable to attend in person.

Juanita nació el 11 de junio de 1948 en Colonia El Pueblito, Municipio de Aldama, Chihuahua, hija de Manuel Samaniego y Beatriz Chávez. El 17 de noviembre de 1973 contrajo matrimonio con Tomás Rios en Colonia El Pueblito, Municipio de Aldama. Su matrimonio fue testimonio de amor y devoción duraderos.

Fue una querida Testigo de Jehová cuya fe fuerte e inquebrantable la guió a lo largo de su vida. Se bautizó el 27 de junio de 1987 en Chihuahua, un paso significativo que reflejó su sincera dedicación a Jehová. Juanita fue una esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga devota. Amó profundamente a cada uno de sus hijos, y su mayor alegría era compartir tiempo con su familia. Sus nietos ocupaban un lugar muy especial en su corazón, y disfrutaba cada momento a su lado. Expresaba su amor a través de su cocina, siempre recibiendo a los demás con un corazón generoso y una mesa abundante.

Era conocida por su risa fuerte y contagiosa, capaz de llenar cualquier lugar de alegría. Fue una mujer trabajadora y dedicada, siempre dispuesta a servir a los demás. Su espíritu hospitalario hacía que todos se sintieran bienvenidos, cuidados y como en casa en su presencia. Amaba bailar y cantar, llenando su hogar de música, calidez y recuerdos inolvidables. Juanita fue amada por muchos, y su legado de fe, entrega, bondad y alegría permanecerá para siempre en el corazón de quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.
