John Fabela, 77, of Fort Stockton passed away Wednesday December 6, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1PM to 9PM with a Rosary at 7PM. Mass will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Los Angeles Section . Reception after the Funeral will be held at La Margarita Restaurant Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home. 

John was born in La Mula Chihuahua to Francisco & Ramona on April 14, 1946. He attended school in Fort Stockton. He married Rosa Fabela on March 7, 1970. He worked as a Principal for Van Horn High School for many years. He was a Veteran of Vietnam War in the Army and was awarded NDSM, VSM, VCM, SPS Badge. He received Riffle M-14 “Sharp Shooter”

John began his career as a teacher, and was promoted to principal. He took pride in helping schools achieve and surpass their goals.

John Fabella was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He was extremely caring and family oriented. He touched the lives of all. He was constantly working and loved to fix things. There was nothing he couldn’t do.

He prioritized celebrating the achievement and happiness of others. John was the most selfless person you could know.

John admired the lifestyle of improvement as he continuously strives to push others to be the best version of themselves by getting close to God. 

He was always modest and precise. With every word he uttered always promoting education. Never an ill word came from his lips. He walked with integrity, love and compassion he used to say “ If you don’t give up on a problem you are working on, it will always be defeated, and you will always win!!” He walked in a reverential fear of the Lord and lived a long prosperous and righteous life, loved all by. There was nothing he could not do. Join the army and obtain his Masters in Education and Bachelors of Business Management. His wife Rosa gained an Bachelors in Psychology. Myra MBA, Deborah Maters of Science, John David Bachelors of Business.

 

John Fabela is preceded in death by Francisco Sr. & Ramona, Fransisco, Mingo, Armenia, Oscar, Victoria, Virginia. 

John is survived by his wife, Rosa, Children Deborah, Myra, and John David, Siblings Sam, Fidel, Vora, Olga, Patricia, Armedia, Grandchildren Aubrey, Casi, Aaron, John Angel, Isaiah and Mikayla and Mojo his beloved dog, Great Grandchildren Brielle and Ariana. 

 

Pallbearers will be Aaron, John Angel, Gustavo, Rene, Casi, Isaiah, Armando and Adrian. 

 

Memorials may be given to Martinez funeral home. The family of John Fabela wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Covenant Medical Center.
