Jose "Jay" Manuel Marquez

March 24, 2003 — March 25, 2026

Odessa, Texas

Jose Manuel Marquez (Jay), 23, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday,  March 25th , 2026, in Odessa, TX.

He was born in Odessa, TX, to Jose Marquez and Crystal Marquez on March 24, 2003.

Jay was the oldest of five. When his dad passed away on March 9, 2021, Jay, without

hesitation, stepped into the role of oldest brother and son. He was always there for his

mom, Crystal; his brothers, Jonathan and Jayden; and his sisters, Alyssa and Aleenah.

Most recently, he embraced the role of uncle to his precious niece, Z’arya Crayton. Jay’s

protectiveness and selfless deeds were tangible. He always had a smile on his face,

and his love for his entire family was deeply felt.

Jay was a hard worker, a loving grandson to his grandparents, Manuel and Melinda,

and a loving cousin and great-nephew to his cousins, aunts, and great-grandmothers.

There are so many lives that Jay touched that we will never know them all. His smile

was contagious, and his love left a lasting impact.

He enjoyed grilling, just like his dad, and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed listening to

music, going to the gym, he enjoyed bomb fires. The biggest joy to him was family time.

He was always the first one to be there and the last to leave.

Jay was one of a kind and was loved by so many friends and family.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jose Alfredo Marquez, and his great-

grandparents, Jose Luis Rojo and Manuel Marquez Sr. He is survived by his mother,

Crystal Marquez; his sisters, Alyssa Marquez and Aleenah Marquez; his brothers,

Jonathan Marquez and Jayden Marquez; and his niece, Z’arya. He is also survived by

his grandparents, Manuel and Melinda Marquez; his uncles, Manuel Marquez Jr. and

his wife, Christina Marquez, and Mikey Marquez and his wife, Arely Marquez; his great-

grandmothers, Irene Marquez and Elena Rojo; and numerous aunts and cousins. On

the other Marquez side of the family, he is survived by his grandmother, Leticia

Marquez; his grandfather, Jose Socorro Marquez Sr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and
