Joe Ornelas Chavarria, 74, of Odessa, TX, passed away August 29th, 2024, in Odessa, TX.

Visitation will take place at Martinez Funeral Home - Outside Chapel on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 1-9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Church Services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at St Joseph's Catholic Church at 2 p.m.

Joe Ornelas Chavarria was born in Artesia, New Mexico to Aurora Chavarria and Jose Chavarria on July 31, 1950. He went to school in Odessa, TX. He married Lorina Flores on March 3rd, 1970, in Ector County. He worked as a pipefitter for Ref-Chem.

Joe Chavarria is proceeded in death by his mother Aurora Chavarria, father Jose Chavarria, brothers Juan Chavarria, Miguel Chavarria and grandson Joe Albert Chavarria, grandmother Michaela Brito, biological father Jesus Chavez Galvan and half-sister Yvonne Teresa Shipman.

Joe Chavarria is survived by his wife Lorena Chavarria, sons Joey Chavarria, Robert Chavarria and daughter Jackie Chavarria, brother Manuel, 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and half siblings Maria, Alonzo, Jessica Cunningham and Steven Conrad Galvan.

Joe was a dedicated worker, husband and father. He loved spending time with friends and drinking beer - specifically Budweiser. He enjoyed playing Dominoes, fishing always wearing his Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses. He taught his kids the way of life and the love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed and forever will be in our hearts.

The pallbearers will be Andrew Mendoza, Adrian Villa, Donny Juarez, Brandon Chavarria, Jake Chavez and Manuel Chavarria.
