Joe Al Marichalar, 38, of Odessa, Texas, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday August 5th, 2025. He was born in Odessa on September 30th, 1986, to Amarante ‘Al’ Marichalar and Mary Louise Morales. Joe attended Permian High School and Odessa College, later he graduated from The University of Texas Permian Basin receiving a Bachelor’s degree in business. He worked at Sewell Ford in the parts department.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Amarante ‘Al’ Marichalar, and grandparents Eliseo and Josefina Marichalar,
He is survived by his mother Mary Marichalar, sister Laura and husband Armando Armendariz, brother Albert Marichalar and wife Jessica, nieces Clarissa ‘Claire’ Gavaldon and Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Franco, and nephews Joshua Marichalar and Caleb Joseph ‘CJ’ Marichalar
Joe’s memory is also cherished by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was a kind, caring and wonderful man who liked to talk and make everyone laugh. He always loved giving his nieces and nephews teddy bear hugs. He always thought of other people and never forgot when to tell somebody Happy Birthday. He loved to listen to rock music, watch sports like football, and on his free time he always loved to watch movies or TV shows. Joe was always open ears to others and would give people advice the best way he could while making sure they were comfortable.
Visitation has been set for Tuesday August 12, 2025, from 1pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.
Mass is set for 10am Wednesday August 13, 2025, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Elsner officiating.
Cremation will follow at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Albert Marichalar, Armando Armendariz, Albert Olivas, John David Olivas, Joe Morales, Nathaniel Maric Mendoza, Eliseo Marichalar, and Mark Gonzales.
