Jeremaih Rodriguez

Jeremiah Ruben Rodriguez, or J.R. Rodriguez, which most everyone knew him as, was born in Odessa, Texas on November 2, 1979 to Ruben and Mary Ann (Garcia) Rodriguez. He passed away on January 14, 2015 in Penwell, Texas. He was 35 years old. J.R. grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School in 1998.
J.R. is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ysidro and Socorro Rodriguez, his maternal grandparents, Ceferino and Eva Garcia, Aunt Melinda Garcia Ortiz, and cousin, Alex Rodriguez.
J.R. is survived by his parents, daughters, Alexis and Alissa Rodriguez, two stepsons (whom he was proud to call his own) Justin Salcido (Katie) and Noel "Brother", his sister Myra (Juan), brothers Marcus (Ashley), and Steven (Perla), step-grandson Damian Salcido, nephew Santos "Bubba" Uvalle, and nieces Caitlin "Kitkat" Uvalle and Amarissa Rodriguez, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Peaceful Garden Section. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home. Rosary will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be his uncles, David McGuire, Joe Henry Garcia, and Billy Garcia, cousins Jr. Ortiz, Matt Garcia, and Jacob Madrid, nephew Bubba Uvalle, and brother-in-law Juan Santa Cruz.
We, the family, wish to thank all our family and friends and our church community family for the abundant blessings of food, floral arrangements, thoughts, and prayers we received during this most difficult time of sorrow. Ruben and Mary Ann would like to give a special thanks to J.R.'s friend Christina for always being there for their son when he needed a friend. Also, an extra special thank you is given to David and Nelda McGuire and their family for opening their home up for all to gather, along with everything they've done for our family.
