With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of precious baby Ja’Mir Murray Watkins, who gained his angel wings on May 18, 2026, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. Though his time here on earth was only one month, Ja’Mir was deeply loved, cherished, and adored by everyone blessed to know him.

Ja’Mir was born on April 17, 2026, at 10:38 a.m., weighing 7 pounds and 10 ounces. From the moment his mother, Jazzlyn Watkins, laid eyes on his sweet face, he filled her heart with unconditional love and joy. Every moment spent with him became a treasured memory that his family will hold close forever.

Though his life was brief, Ja’Mir’s beautiful spirit touched many hearts. He brought warmth, hope, and love into the lives of his family from the very beginning. His gentle presence will forever remain a part of those who loved him most.

Ja’Mir was welcomed into heaven by his grandmother, Emma Jean Elliott, and his uncle, Rodney Watkins, where he is now surrounded by eternal peace and love.

He leaves behind to cherish his precious memory his loving mother, Jazzlyn Watkins; his brother, Eric Scaggs; his grandmother, Deann Evans Pride; his grandfather, Clarence Pride; his aunts, DeOshanay Henderson, Donajah Watkins, and Rose Evans; along with a host of extended family members and loved ones who will forever carry him in their hearts.

Although words cannot ease the pain of this tremendous loss, Ja’Mir will always be remembered for the joy, light, and love he brought into this world during his short but meaningful life.

Public Visitation will only be held from 1pm -5pm Monday May 25,2026  In the Inside Chapel of Martinez Funeral Home-Dixie location 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11Am Tuesday May 26, 2026 in The Inside Chapel of Martinez Funeral Home-Dixie location with Pastor:  ID Tunson Jr. officiating.

The Watkins Family have opted for Cremation as an alternative means of Burial with A Menorial Balloon Release of Baby Ja'Mir, to be held at a Later date.
