Helen Marie Gonzalez Holguin 73, of Odessa, TX went to join our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was greeted by the love of her life, who preceded her in death, Mr. Salvador Benard Holguin, Sr.
Helen was born in Fort Stockton, TX to Mr. Manuel S. Gonzalez, Sr. and Mrs. Consuelo Urias on April 13, 1952, where she was raised until she married Salvador on September 16, 1968, then later completing the sacrament of the Holy Bands of marriage in September of 1973.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents Manuel S. Gonzalez, Sr. and Consuelo Urias and her husband of 32 years, Salvador, Sr. and her beloved granddaughter Melissa Marie Holguin.
She is survived by her four children: Helen Marie Martinez and her spouse Martha Martinez of Big Lake, Salvador, Jr. of Odessa TX, Ana Marie Holguin of Odessa, TX and Brigido Carlos Holguin of Midland, TX. Her grandchildren: Tiffani Holguin and children Hayden, Heaven, and Hendrix all of McCamey, Eric and spouse with son Judson of Greenwood, TX, Jesus Barriga of Odessa, TX, Yilana Gryder of McCamey TX and Meranie Kendrick and husband Zay with their son Semaj of Odessa, TX.
Mrs. Holguin as she was so lovingly known by her many babysitting kiddos and many youth of McCamey, Imperial, Crane and surrounding area as she was a homemaker, a mother, grandmother and was a religious woman who prayed her rosary daily. She was a floral crafter, a baker, and a true friend. Mrs. Holguin was a giver and rarely a taker devoting many years of volunteer service as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician, and a volunteer to the CCD program of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Our Lady of Lourdes for the First Holy Communion class for many years.
Pallbearers for the celebration of Life Mass will be Mario Urias, Richard Urias, Eric Holguin, Hayden Molina, Leo Tarin, Jr., and BJ Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Stone and Jesus Barriga.
Family requests in lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society or the Lady of Guadalupe Capilla and shrine in Midland, TX.
