George Herrera

June 27, 1959 — November 23, 2020

Odessa, Texas

George Lopez Herrera, (Jubba), 61, of Odessa, TX went to be with the lord on Monday, November 23, 2020. He was born in Georgetown, TX on June 27, 1959, to the late Manuel and Natividad Herrera. George was a machinist for over 30 years, he enjoyed his job and colleagues. In his younger days he enjoyed playing baseball with his brothers. He called himself the “hound dog” and could “shake a leg” on the dance floor as he would say. If he got sick he would say “I caught the parvo”!! Along with that he was bad to the bone in pool. He had a heart of gold and gave the warmest hugs and best forehead kisses or bites!! He never met a stranger. Everyone held a special place in his heart and had a nickname. He loved messing with the Dallas Crygirls fans!! Some of his favorite sayings were “I know that's right”. “I'magine “. “ Alright my dad”. "Don't be a wahh wahh". "Pull my finger". “Grandpa loves you this much and more”. "Hubba hubba, howwlllll”. “Bad to the bone”. “ Suuuper grandpa”. “I love you mucho mucho”.
He spent the last 19 years with his honey/chid, Leonor, he loved her so very much. His kids were his everything, his whole world. His Perro (Little Georgie) and his Little French Fry/Little Bird/Chispa (Andrea) they both made him so proud, and he spoke very highly of them. He enjoyed coaching them in baseball and softball. Both his perfect babies. His grandkids were the absolute light of his life, they were his perfect angels. He loved every minute spent with them. He was their biggest fan and motivator, hardly missed a game or function. The best grandpa they could ask for. Always just a call away, never missed the opportunity to tell you about them. He had a special dance he did with them, he called it “the grandpa dance”.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are: his wife Leonor Franco, his son George Herrera and wife Krista, his daughter Andrea Hidalgo and husband Mark. His stepdaughter Samantha Davis and husband Jeremy and stepson Jason Franco.
