Francisca was born on Sunday, July 21, 1940, to Antonio Montoya and Santos Delgado in Ejido Tierras Nuevas, Chihuahua, Mexico. On March 13, 1959, she was united in marriage to Adam S. Gonzales Sr. in Odessa, TX, and to this union, five sons were added.

Coming from a large family consisting of 5 brothers and 2 sisters, all from Ejido Tierras Nuevas and Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. As well as her husband of 41 years: Adam Gonzales Sr., her son: Adam Gonzales Jr. and a grand-daughter: Suzette Adelaida Gonzales.

She is survived by her four remaining sons: Robert Joe,  Javier (Iris), Jaime (Gloria) and Joel (JoAnn), her daughter-in-law: Dora Gonzales, one brother: Jose Luis “Pepe” Montoya of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico and a plethora of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to fuel the legacy of the Gonzales family for generations to come.

Francisca was a truly devout Christian who lived and breathed Proverbs 31:10-31. She was also a proud member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Odessa, Texas for well over 50 years, having served in the children’s nursery (which was her joy of service), until her illness required her to step down. She loved her family dearly and always said that she lived for her sons. Throughout her years, she instilled in them a sense of self-worth and respect; not only for her, but for others as well. Her home always had an open door and she always shared a welcoming nature to anyone who entered her house. She gave of herself and all she had without condition and even as her family grew with more and more grandkids, she made it a point to spend as much time as possible getting to know each one of them. At Christmas time, even if it was something as simple as a knitted sweater or a five-dollar bill, she always gave from her heart.  While she was here with us all for only a short time, she warmed everyone’s heart with her presence and love for us to continue to share even in her absence.

For all the times, you gently picked us up, when we fell down, for all of the times you tied our shoes and tucked us into bed, or needed something but put us first instead.

For everything we shared with you including the dreams, laughter, and the tears. We love you with a love that is deeper and unlike any other that will continue to deepen each and every year from here on out.

Thank you for everything that you stood for then, now, and tomorrow for all of us!
