Faustino "Tino" Lara

August 26, 1950 — September 20, 2022

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022 Faustino “Tino” D. Lara, 72, of Odessa, Tx. passed away at his residence.

~Life can change in the blink of an eye, but love is eternal~

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 1pm to 9pm. Rosary will be prayed at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Bernardito Getigan officiating. As dad wishes were to be cremated, we as a family will honor that wish. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.

Faustino “Tino” D. Lara was born in Pecos Texas to Felix and Refugia Lara on August 26, 1950. Tino attended school in Pecos for his elementary and junior high years until the eighth grade. He went on and attended trade school in his early twenties in El Paso Texas. He married the love of his life Gloria Lara on September 10, 1968 in Pecos Tx. He had a few employers in his lifetime and dedicated his full potential at each one. He worked at a plant in Orla, seismograph, OMIE, City Of Odessa, Walmart, Pyramid Instrumentation & Electric Corporation, PTW. Until he fully retired on April 15, 2020.

He had a smile that would light up a room & a contagious laugh that made your heart smile. He told the best stories & jokes. He was a hard worker, loved unconditionally & was a man of his word. He was so passionate about his family, but especially his grandchildren & great grandchildren. He showed up and supported each of us no matter the sport or event. He was a diehard Cowboys, NY Yankee & MOJO fan. He had a love and passion as a coin collector. To be loved by PoPo was such a blessing & he will be forever missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eulogio and Juanita Lara, his parents Felix and Refugia Lara, sisters Anna Barron, Susie Lara, brothers Lupe Lara, Raul Lara, In laws Juan and Delfina Gomez, sister in law Bertha Gomez, brother in law’s Raymond Gomez, Carlos Martinez, Mundo Garcia, CT Gray, Tommy Trammell.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Lara; Daughter, Amy (Oscar) Moreno; Sons, George (Maggie) Gomez, Faustino (Neomi) Lara Jr.; Brothers, Armando (Araceli) Lara, Ruben (Olivia) Lara; Grandchildren, Desiree (Keenan) Mosby, Destinee Moreno, Deylan Moreno, Dylan Moreno, Aaron Gomez, Jereme (Celeste) Gomez, Bryan Gonzales, Giovanni (Justin) Banning, Nicole Lara, Serena Lara, Aliyah Lara, Anberlin Lara; Great Grandchildren, Kaz Mosby & Keilani Mosby.

Pallbearers will be Junior Lara, George Gomez, Oscar Moreno, Deylan Moreno, Dylan Moreno, Keenan Mosby, Bryan Gonzales, Jereme Gomez. Honorary Pallbearers: Kaz Mosby, Armando Lara, Ruben Lara, Ruben Gomez and Robert Gomez.

The family would like to say Thank You, from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support. To all family and friends for their generous donations, calls, texts, visits, food, prayers and most of all for loving our family hero.
