Esequiel Barriga

Esequiel Montez Barriga of Presidio TX, age 64 passed away from his life peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 18, 2020 at his residence.

The Barriga Family will receive friends and family on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 1-9pm at Martinez Funeral Home (1040 S. Dixie Blvd, Odessa TX).

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday November 30, 2020 at Martinez Funeral Home

Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 10:00 am.

Esequiel aka “Baby” & “Zeke” was born December 2, 1955 to Fransisco Barriga and Socorro Montez Barriga in Presidio TX

“Zeke” attended Presidio High School. He was a business owner for 24 years at Discount Auto Sales. He was a very loving husband, dad, grandpa, etc. He was a ride or die fan for the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed having barbecues, spending time with family and friends. He loved dancing, joking and was the clown of the crowd. His grandchildren were his top priority.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife Alicia Armendarez Barriga, His daughters Bianca (Jonell) Pineda, Amy Herrera, Blanca Barriga / Moises Hernandez, Brenna (Maurice) Rogers, Brianna Barriga / Dessi Burton, and his son Brison Barriga.

He is also survived by Socorro (Robert) Sotello of Bernalillo NM, Mario (Darlene) Barriga of Albuquerque NM, Mando Barriga of Midland TX, Lorina Barriga of Bernalillo NM, Ivan Barriga of Los Lunas NM and numerous nephews and nieces.

“Zeke” is preceded in death by his parents Francisco (Chico) Barriga and Socorro Montez Barriga, his daughter Blanca Rosa, his siblings Georgina Barriga, Jose (Caché) Barriga, Francisco (Chito) Jr. Barriga, Ninfa Arenivas, Eliseo (Lee) Barriga, Oscar Barriga.

Pallbearers will be Jonell Jr. Pineda, Jazarion and Jamarion Rogers, Ja’Zion and Ja’Zae Pineda, Da’Breen Burton, Jonell Pineda, and Maurice Rogers with an Honorary Pallbearer of Luis Caldera.
