Enrique “Big Rick” Carrera 59 years old of Odessa, Texas went peacefully to the Lord in the loving arms of his beloved wife of 39 years, Monday September 15, 2025, in Dallas Tx.
Big Rick was born in Artesia NM to Enrique & Cuca Rodriguez Carrera on October 11, 1965. He graduated from Odessa High. He married Juliet Galindo on July 28, 1986 in Odessa Tx. He worked as a supervisor for Ector County Public Works for many years. Among many things Big Rick enjoyed baseball and was a passionate Dodgers Fan. He was a pillar of the lowrider community and even featured in magazines donning his signature mustache. His love for building cars and sense of style was contagious, Lowriding was more than a hobby but a way of life. He was a pivotal component to the longest standing Lowrider car show, The Tejano Super Show, organized many car shows that fostered community and various charities as well as mentor at-risk youth. Founding father of City Style Car Club, Member of Old Memories Car Club and lifetime member of Lowrider Hall of Fame Taste of Latin Car Club. As a father he shared his knowledge and wisdom of life with his own brand of humor and leadership. He was well known for his generosity and hospitality that went above and beyond.
Big Rick is preceded in death by his father Enrique Carrera Sr. and Sister Socorro Carrera.
Big Rick is survived by his wife the love of his life Juliet Carrera, his children little Ricky Carrera and wife Mitzy Carrera and youngest son Ramon Carrera. His Mother Cuca Carrera, grandchildren Diego Carrera and Dylan Carrera. His Nephew Frankie Estrada, many god children, cousins, family, friends and countless others whose lives Big Rick touched.
Pallbearers will be Nick Hernandez, Robert Chacon, Ruben Chacon, Cory Shelton, Edgar Uribe & JP Gonzales.
Big Rick’s visitation is set for Monday September 22, 2025, from 1pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm recited by Deacon Billy Garcia at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.
Mass is set for 10am Tuesday September 23, 2025, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Freddy Perez officiating.
Burial will follow at American Heritage Cemetery FM 1788 Midland, TX
