Eloy Armendariz

Eloy was born in Odessa Texas to Elydia Flores Barriga and Arturo D. Armendariz on December 6th 1955. As a young boy Eloy had such a passion for boxing and fought in the State Golden Gloves Tournament in 1973 he also traveled to many cities to compete in light weight division tournaments. Eloy left his hometown at the age of 15 and moved to Houston where he was raised by his favorite aunt Connie who raised him as her own son. Eloy had such an amazing love for his aunt Connie they had a beautiful bond between them. Eloy was such a caring, loving and giving person to everyone he met. Eloy enjoyed talking to everyone telling his boxing stories and loved being near the water to go fishing or just taking a walk along the beach. He loved the ocean so much that requested for his ashes to be spread out in Galveston Texas Beach Waters.

Eloy is proceeded in death by his father Arturo D. Armendariz, his maternal grandparents Valentine & Angelita Flores, his paternal grandparents Jose & Leonor Armendariz, his sister Obdulia Anaya Nunez.

Eloy is survived by his mother Elydia Flores Barriga and adopted mother Connie A. Lopez

Survived by his daughters Sandra Armendariz Vickers and her husband Don Vickers. Candice Armendariz, Lisa Armendariz, Casandra Armendariz and her husband Jose Rojas.

Grandchildren - Rey Gomez Jr. , Elisa Gomez Olivarez, Josiah Holugin, Emilee Holugin, Jadasi Cortez, Azaliah Guiterrez, Lilyanah Cortez, Jose Rojas, Cruz Vejil, Alixya Chavez, Madalynn Meierhoff, Santana Armendariz, and Maliah Armendariz.

Brothers and Sisters -  DeAnne Minjarez, Sylvia Hedke, Delma Balerio, Raymond Barriga, Frank Olguin, Arturo Armendariz, Delma Rodriguez  Sue Lara, Rick Carbajal, Larry Armendariz, Jessie Salgado, Maria Reyna, and Sandra Rios
