Eloisa Alvarez

Eloisa was born on January 28, 1927, in Mulato, Chihuahua, to Matias and Raymunda Gomez.  Eloisa was a lifetime devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  On December 28, 2023, at age 96 years old Eloisa earned her angel wings.

Eloisa married Jose Baeza Alvarez in June 1946.  They were married 25 years before his passing in 1971.

Eloisa is preceded in death by a son Jose B. Alvarez, Jr. and her only daughter, Rosa Alvarez; five sisters, Elvira Duarte, Enedina Fuentez, Raymunda Rodriguez, Gavina Guevara, Guadalupe Anaya, Margarita Carrasco and one brother, Cruz Gomez

Eloisa is survived by her sons, Joe G. Alvarez and his wife, Iris; and Leonel Alvarez; grandchildren Terra Seal and husband, Scott; Christina Villalobos and husband, Anthony; Camille Correa all of Odessa and Candra Duckworth and husband, Anthony, of Frisco, Texas. Sisters, Alvina Alvarado of San Jose, California, Agripina Gomez of Mesa. Arizona and Berta Reyes of Queretaro, Mexico

She also leaves to cherish her memory numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services are entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home. A viewing will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, from 1 PM to 9 PM with Rosary scheduled at 7 PM. 

A celebration of Eloisa’s life will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Odessa, Texas officiated by Deacon Ruben Reyes.

The burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Old Odessa section.
