Dora J. Deanda, 67, of Odessa Tx, passed away on January 31,2019 in Odessa Tx.

Visitation will be Saturday February 2, from 3:00 PM - 9:00PM and Sunday February 3, from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Home on 1040 S. Dixie.

Funeral celebrate will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday February 4 with Father Chavez of St. Joseph's, officiating. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.

Dora J Deanda was born in Odessa Tx to Lucia D Ortiz and Nolberto Jaso on April 20, 1951. She went to school at Odessa Tx. She graduated from Ector High School. She worked as a cook for Arbor Terrace Head Start for 12 years. She loved who she worked with and so loved the kids, she took pride in all she did. She was a very hard working, generous, patient, loving, always giving what she had to others. Mom's favorite thing to do was to bake biscochios, she loved to make them for every occasion, and the family and friends loved it when she did. In her spare time she loved to read, sew and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Her little sidekick Jordyn Castillo (my little Angel) was always with her going out of town, to the store or just at home.

Dora J Deanda is preceded in death by her mother Lucia D Ortiz and father Nolberto Jaso. Brothers Jerry Ortiz, Thomas Ortiz, Gilbert Jaso and her baby sister Elfida.

Dora J Deanda is survived by her children Joe A Castillo Jr, Sidney Castillo, Amy Garcia and husband Daniel Garcia. Her sisters Licha Hernandez, Delia Terrcero, Maria Neida Alvarado and husband Joe Alvarado, and Grace DeAnda. Her Grandchildren Ricky Licon, Estephan Acosta, Jennifer Castillo, Michael Castillo, Mariah Castillo, Jordyn Castillo, Kassarah Garcia, Julian Garcia, Sidney Castillo Jr., Julian Luna, Dominic Luna, and Gabryella Garcia. Two Great-Grandchildren Zaelyn and Juliette and one on the way. Many nephews and nieces. Also to the only dog she ever liked and loved Whiskers.

Pallbearers will be Adorian (Manny) Alvarado, Estephan Acosta, Gilbert Estrella, Sidney Castillo Jr., Julian Luna, and Dominic Luna.


The family of Dora J Deanda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Madhu, Dr. Gibbons , ORMC and staff for taking good care of our mother. We would also like to Thank everyone for the kind words, hugs, food, and flowers during this time.
