Cornelia Fierro Acosta of Kermit, Texas born to Manuel and Ventura Fierro on February 19, 1944 in Marathon, Texas. She was 79.
Visitation will be December 20, 2023, from 1PM to 9PM at Martinez Funeral Home in Odessa Texas with a rosary at 7PM. Funeral services at St Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 AM with father, Frank Chavez officiating.
Connie was a mother to 4 children, a grandmother of 7, and a great grandmother of 12. She loved music and dancing, which she passed down to her kids, and grandkids often dragging them out on the floor to teach them her favorite dance or having them sing along to her favorite songs.
She worked for the Irving ISD as a custodial engineer for 33 years, retiring in 2010.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Ventura Fierro, her siblings, Maria , Dominguez, Margarita Berzoza, Manuel Fierro Jr., Mike Fierro Sr., Gabriel Fierro Sr., and Faustino Fierro.
She is survived by her children, Jose Luis Acosta wife Maryann, Eddie Acosta, Cynthia Pompa, and Abel Acosta wife Cheri. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Turner husband Ryan, Anthony Acosta wife Brittany, Alex Pompa wife Yannis, Alyssa Acosta, Aliyah Pompa companion Carlos, Jonathan Acosta, and Sophia Acosta. Great Grandchildren Layla, Colt, Ava, Calleigh, Ellie, Maddie, Zoe, Ella, Emma, Penelope, Amelia, and Carly. Sister Guadalupe Garcia, Sister In Law Amelia Fierro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers Anthony Acosta, Alex Pompa, Jonathan Acosta, Joey Pompa, Carlos Briones, and Reymundo Berzoza.
The family wants to thank the MCH staff and hospice team for their compassion and grace.
