Clyde Gibson

Clyde Gibson was called home on August 30, 2013. He was born on July 29, 1939 to John D and Jessie Mae Gibson, as the 2nd of 4 children.

Services will be held at 10 am at Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Midland, Texas, 211 N. Tyler, with Rev. William Palmer officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Ector County Cemetery.

The family came to Odessa in 1952, joining St. John Baptist Church. Clyde later joined Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Midland.
He attended and graduated from Blackshear High School in 1958, served in the United States Army Reserves as a Medical Specialist. Clyde worked many years in the hotel business and was employed by the Doubletree Hotel in Midland, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John B Gibson.

He is survived by his son Edward D Gibson Sr. and his wife Denna of Cypress, TX sister Celestine and her husband, Riley Rand of Odessa, TX brother Herbert Gibson of Odessa, TX grandchildren Edward D. Gibson Jr. and his wife Toni of McKinney, TX, Andrae Gibson Sr., and his wife Melony of McKinney, TX and Javian Gibson of Cypress, TX seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
