Charlie Vasquez

Charlie Vasquez, 75 of Odessa, TX, passed away on March 13, 2026 in Odessa. Charlie Vasquez was born in Colorado City, Texas to Jose & Juanita Vasquez on March 13, 1951. He married Lucia Landa in 1971 in Odessa Tx. They were married for 42 years then they Divorced and he met long time girlfriend Gloria Martinez and they were together until she passed in 2024. Then he reunited with his first wife Lucia 2025 till he passed in 2026. In Charlie’s younger days he used to love to draw pictures of all kinds and as he grew older he loved spending time gardening flowers, fixing up his 51 Chevy and his 72 corvette. He also loved passing his days listening to oldies music and enjoying a cold bud light.

Charlie Vasquez is preceded in death by his son Charlie Vasquez Junior. Charlie is survived by Lucia Vasquez, his two daughters: Vickie Contreras, and Priscilla Alvarez, Irene Guzman, Lupe Martinez, Juanita Vasquez, Maria Talavera, & Joe Vasquez. Grandchildren: George Contreras, Lycette Alvarez, Sarah Bonilla, Marco Vasquez, Miguel Alvarez and Vanessa Vasquez. Great-Grandchildren: David Holguin, Darinel Alvarez, Dariel Alvarez, Daniel Alvarez, Adalyn Contreras, Chato Martinez, Lucas Bonilla, Marcos Vasquez, Jr., and Damien Vasquez. Pallbearers will be: George Contreras, Fernando Reschman, Ramon Bustos, Rene Vasquez, Vanessa Vasquez and David Holguin.

Public visitation will be Wednesday, March 18th from 1:00pm - 7:00pm and prayer will be from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Martinez Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday, March 19, 2026 at soul food ministries church with pastor Pete Landa. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
