A celebration service of Buzzy's life, has ben set for 10AM Friday August 28, 2026, at Martinez Funeral Home chapel with Brother Chris Arredondo officiating.

Obituary

Charles Louis “Buzzy” Mahan, 70, of De Leon, Texas passed away on August 15th, 2026, in Odessa, Texas. Buzzy was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend.

Buzzy was born in De Leon, Texas to Hannah Lou Brumbelow and James Gayle Mahan on June 20th, 1956. He graduated from De Leon High School and was a proud member of FFA and the De Leon Bearcats. He was a graduate of Tarleton State University. He married Corina Barreraz on September 20th, 1980, in Odessa, Texas and stayed by her side for over 45 years. Buzzy’s strong work ethic and dedication to his craft as a machinist earned him the respect and friendship of those he worked alongside. Buzzy had a gift for conversation and could easily befriend anyone he met; he had a way of making strangers feel like friends.

Buzzy has been reunited with his parents Hannah Lou Mahan Jones and James Gayle Mahan, brothers Toby Mahan and John Mark Mahan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Corina, son Lee Brandon Mahan, and daughter Erica Gayle Mahan; brothers Jimmy Mahan and wife Karen, Joey Mahan and wife Ronda; sister-in-law Becky Mahan; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A celebration of Buzzy’s life has been set for 10am Friday August 28, 2026, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel 1040 S Dixie Blvd Odessa, TX 79761 with Brother Chris Arredondo officiating.

Cremation will follow at a later date.

We the Mahan family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the ICU Team at Medical Center Hospital for their compassion and kindness, and the many family and friends who have shown their support during this difficult time.
