Bernardo Martinez (Rollie), 31, of Odessa Tx, passed away on November 22, 2025 in Odessa Tx.
Rollie was born in Odessa Tx to Bernardo and Criselda Martinez on February 16, 1994. He went to school in Odessa Tx. With heavy hearts and deep love, we remember and honor the life of a remarkable soul taken from us far too soon. He was a fighter in every sense of the word — not only in the boxing ring, but in life itself. At home, he loved losing himself in the worlds of anime, finding inspiration, imagination, and comfort in its stories and characters. Some of his most personal treasures were his journals. Page by page, he poured out his thoughts, dreams, struggles, and ideas. His words were a reflection of the depth, creativity, and sensitivity within him — a side that many weren’t blessed to see. Above all else, he loved his family. His siblings were not just relatives but best friends and protectors. He cherished time spent together — the laughter, the inside jokes, and the shared memories that will now be held close forever. He loved nothing more than being by his mom Lally’s side — riding along wherever the road took them, talking, laughing, or simply enjoying the quiet together. Their late-night cruises were his favorite escape, the world slowing down as music played and city lights drifted past the windows. In those moments, it wasn’t about the destination, just the comfort of her presence and the peace of being together. Those drives became memories full of love, warmth, and an unspoken bond that words could never fully capture. His love was loyal, genuine, and unbreakable. Though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit lives on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
Rollie is preceded in death both paternal and maternal grandparents, cousins and niece Alexandra Joja Montoya.
Rollie is survived by his siblings; Joe A. Montoya, Adan Salcido, James Salcido and wife Lisa Salcido, Brandy Salcido-Hernandez and husband Felix Hernandez, Judy Martinez-Luevano and husband Manuel Luevano, Eddyray Martinez and wife Lianes Sanchez-Martinez. Parents Bernardo and Criselda Martinez. 22 nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Rollie was blessed to be part of a large family, having many cousins, Tios and Tias.
The family of Rollie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has extended their condolences and prayers. We ask you please continue to pray for our loved ones as we endure such a tough loss. Please keep Rollie’s memory alive by remembering the big heart he had and all the love he gave.
