Bernardino R. 'Benny' Russell, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at his home in Odessa, Texas. Born on August 20, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, Benny lived a life filled with laughter, love, and a profound loyalty to those he cherished.
Benny was a man of many talents, blessed with a delightful sense of humor that could light up any room. His laughter was infectious, and he had a special gift for making even the simplest moments feel extraordinary. Those who knew him will remember his jovial spirit and the joy he brought into their lives.
A proud veteran, Benny served in the United States Marines for several years, a commitment that underscored his sense of duty and dedication to his country.
His passion for life extended far beyond his service. Benny had a particular fondness for his Pitbull dogs, whose loyalty mirrored his own for his friends and family.
At the time of his passing, Benny was surrounded by the unwavering presence of his beloved wife, Delma Russell, who remained by his side until his last breath. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and partnership, highlighting the deep affection they shared for one another.
The world has lost a truly remarkable man whose laughter and spirit will be deeply missed. Benny's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Benny is preceded in death by his Parents Alicia and Beto Russell, Brother Ricky Russell, and Tia Aurora.
Benny is survived by his loving Wife Delma Russell, Son Juan Carlos Russell, Brother Gilberto Russell, Sisters Lori Briones and Elizabeth Rodriguez, and 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on July 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM, at the Martinez Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1040 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761. A mass in honor of Benny will be held on July 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 907 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761.
