Amparo C. Gutierrez, 90, of Marfa, Texas passed away September 7, 2024.
Amparo C. Gutierrez was born in Marfa, Texas to David and Manuela Chacon on January 29, 1934. She married Nieves A. Gutierrez and they leave behind their legacy with 12 Children.
We say farewell to our Family Matriarch. A family could not ask for a better Mother and Grandmother. Amparo not only raised her children, but she also helped raise and support her grandchildren time and time again.
Amparo loved playing Loteria with family and her pastimes included playing bingo at the VFW and cooking delicious food.
She will always be remembered for her love, strength, and her cooking. Amparo made the best menudo and tamales. Her strong warm hugs and red kisses will forever be missed.
Amparo is preceded in death by David and Manuela Chacon, Nieves A. Gutierrez, Delma Gutierrez, Martin Gutierrez, Five Sisters and 2 Brothers.
Amparo is survived by Children: Nieves and Linda Gutierrez, Leo and Adela Gutierrez, Orlando Gutierrez, Estela and Ramiro Salazar, Oscar and Kelly Gutierrez, Norma and Jesus Manuel Carrillo, Joe and Sara Gutierrez, Corina and Gilbert Salinas, Robert Gutierrez, Lisa and Manuel Torres. She also leaves behind 47 Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 5:00PM – 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday September 12, 2024 from 10:00AM– 9:00PM at Martinez Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00PM. Mass will be held 10:00AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez Officiating. Burial to follow at Ector County Cemetery ~ Rosehill Section.
Pallbearers will be Leo Gutierrez Jr., Sammy Carrasco, Bobby Gutierrez, Joey Gutierrez, Leroy Gutierrez, Shaun Gutierrez, Jesus Carrillo, Alan Torres, and Jaime Rodriguez.
